Well there are probably many reasons why she contacted Ford...

She still probably had some bond with him and his family. (truly she was suing his father and not him)
Ford could get in his private plane and go there at a moments notice
Ford knew how to get into the house or had a key to get into it.

Who knows maybe in the days before her death - she over heard KE and Stern talking about Daniel's death (as in them talking about Stern's past plot to kill him - surely they had to be talking about the upcoming inquest in the Bahamas - maybe KE and him were talking about Stern could cover his tracks and maybe Anna over heard it.)

If she contacted Ford there is probably proof of it. A phone call or an email that can be traced either way.
