that might be what it is... the wind is blowing
I am up high on the bluffs and I see nothing - sky is clear - no smoke - no sirens - no planes in the air - no train accident (train track is behind me about 1/2 mile) but no train was coming through) - no neighbors burning trash and exploding aerosol cans.
I'm on the New Madrid but it was not a quake. - not that type of shaking... big sonic booms then the house shook each time. Oh well I have not heard it again for about 15 minutes - drama over.

FWIW when I lived in California we used to get some earthquakes that made a loud boom and would give one big shake to the house like someone hit it. Not like shake rattle and roll.
