Was Paregoric used for colic? I also remember Coke syrup for upset tummys. My mom would always rub whiskey on a teething babies gums and blow cigarette smoke in an ear for an earache! Oh! And tobacco from a cig mixed with water to put on bee stings! lol

We used paragoric for teething so the baby AND the parents could get some sleep.
Not sure what it was supposed to be used for.

btw, Our moms should all be doin’ hard time for the things they did to us!! lol

My grandmother gave us a drop of coal oil (kerosene for younguns) in a teaspoon of sugar when we were sick. Do not remember what that sickness was either. LOLL
