" In my opinion, the doctors lie or are ignorant or condescending when they tell you it's as a simple as taking a little pill and you'll be back to normal. Don't get me started!!! Someone, please remove that soapbox before I get on it and make a spectacle of myself."

You are not making a spectacle- you are spot on. I see this attitude every day-a refusal to think outside the box, a one diagnosis fits all and tunnel vision when it comes to treatment.
Do your homework, don't accept anything you don't feel comfortable with and keep searching for a doctor that will work with you and not against you.
While there are many jerks in medicine, there are also many good doctors-I hope you can find one that will help you and will listen to you and will work with you to find a treatment plan that makes both of you happy.

I am compelled to jump in here and speak well of the physicians I have dealt with in my life. My very elderly parents live with us. I am their primary care giver. They are both suffering from senile dementia. My mother has cancer, and they both have most afflictions that accompany 90+ years of age. My husband has diabetes, hypertension, two angioplasties plus stents, and other related problems. I spend many days each month at various medical facilities with them. They have received excellent medical care. But it goes beyond that. They have been treated with compassion and very sincere interest. Lots of follow up telephone calls, and even some house calls, a very rare thing these days. Perhaps it's because we live in a small city with a very large (and wonderful) regional medical center. I feel very blessed to have the wonderful medical care available to us.

The horror stories I have read on this thread about other doctors really upset me. I'm very greatful that I haven't had to experience it. I am also thankful that I am healthy enough to handle my special blessings.

That said, I am certain that Dr. Kristine Eroshovich is the rare exception.
