The friend of Anna's who was on w/the Shelley's on Geraldo's show, said something that made my ears perk up. I have always had the suspicion that Daniel offed himself because he was no longer #1 in Anna's life (Howard had edged him out of the picture and Anna acquiesced (because she was a doped-up mess). I think he was jealous of the new baby, and either swiped some of Anna's pills (or brought his own), popped some Methadone, and killed himself right in front of her as a form of see what you made me do in a pique of jealousy. His way of getting back at mom. I have some familiarity with this scenario, as a distant relative pulled a similar trick on his wife's parents who never approved of him, so he offed himself in their garage, in their car, while they were out of town. The friend of Anna's, on Geraldo's show, said that she believed Danny was jealous of the baby, thus confirming my theory as being a distinct possibility. Hmmmm,.......

Your scenario was my very first reaction - it even seemed obvious to me. But that was because I didn't know anything else and thought that even tho I couldn't stand ANS's antics, that maybe behind-the-scenes, she was a fairly good mother.
OTOH, the other stuff I'd heard was a lot darker and I wasn't too sure about her "doting" mother bit with Daniel. It seemed kind of obscene at times when she made him "her man" in ways that other mothers don't - just because of who she is and how she acts.
He seemed to be embarrassed by her all the time. When he died, then I heard about his "straight-arrowness" and his good grades and seriousness.
The more that came out, the more I discounted suicide. I really want to hear more, though, because I don't feel like the truth is out - and we know so little about his recent CA life.
