The lady running IHKSAM site may have placed her finger on why Wecht melted down and went after Virgie with so much vengence this week. Chloral Hydrate.

She points out Wecht has always insisted Daniel only had three drugs in his system (and glossed over the Methadone)... when he actually had 7 and some like the Methadone were 7 - 8 times the norm.

What I think she nailed that is important though, is you don't find chloral hydrate unless you specifically look for it.

Said they only checked ANS after the fact for this drug and since it is such an off the wall drug Wecht and the Bahamian coroners may not have looked for this drug and an exumation of his body to look for this could end up being devestating for Team Stern if it did reveal Daniel actually died from an OD of chloral hydrate ---- note: would explain his sudden sleepiness.

I have a question. If Larry gets DL and Stern comes back to US, and the Inquest goes forward inspite of Stern not showing up as a witness, but it turns out he's a "person of interest", will US extradite him back to the Islands for a trial?

I believe when i first came up with the quack theory about the botox or some other substance that isn't detectable in autoposy, someone else came up with Chloral Hydrate as something more reasonable than botulitum toxin. We speculated that even tho the drug isn't supposed to be detectable there is probably a way that an ME can determine its existence. Perhaps someone was looking at us. And then the laundry list of drugs came to light. It's discouraging that all our ideas, theories, explanations were for naught. Hopefully, the Feds are just biding their time.

Chloral Hydrate is so rarely prescribed anymore -you would never in a million years think to look for it.
ANS was a textbook case of the last person who should have ever ,ever been prescribed CH.
That's why the Chloral Hydrate was such a red flag in the death of ANS.
Well, it should have been.
Perper yawned when he should have had his eyes fly wide open.
And when the witnesses told him ( as he noted in his report ) that she guzzled her CH freely and at will, apparently for months...he should have flown out of his chair and called in the detectives.
It's also obvious from Perper's conclusions-that he didn't have a clue about the background of ANS and the nefarious influences on her life.
It reads like Erosevich and HKS dictated that part of the report.
