They explained it the same way on CTV Catherine Crier this afternoon, and that is where they explained that what Stern is trying to get accomplished would basically mean there would never, ever be a test until Dannielynn is an adult.
It's just not like our court system here. That is what Gloria Alred was trying to explain to Greta on the show tonight, it wasn't a Bahamian case she was referring to but a case that involves the Hague. The cases and the Hague data goes back weeks ago here when we were researching Bahamian law.
Basically, if this case stays in the Bahamas it gets very nasty and will take forever -- years even -- I think this is why Opri didn't want to do anything there. The longer he hangs on to Dannielynn, the better his chance of never handing her over.
If California rules Birkhead is the father and asks the Feds to go get her from the Bahamian Government, then things will move much faster. ALSO..... don't forget at some point Stern has to personally show in California before the 9th Circus if he ever wants to collect any of the $400 million dollars. The whole thing is in limbo right now until he comes back to California. So if California rules Dannielynn is Birkhead's child and Stern doesn't turn her over and he comes to CAlifornia without her, he can be arrested and held for kidnapping charges.

Would you wait on the Bahamian court to accept or deny Stern appeal on the DNA test?
Would you be working on having the California court to put a TRO on the DNA results (if that was really required to get them?)
Would you not be doing both at the same time?
Remember Opri did say if they had to they would have Stern held for kidnapping if it came down to that.
What Greta came up with tonight was not a new theory - she should have kept her mouth shut on national TV. But then again Stern was under a lot of pressure when he took that baby in for swabbing. The Florida results had not been disclosed yet and the inquest in the Bahamas had not come up yet. We don't know for sure what would have happened to Stern is he did not take the baby in for swabbing. Some talking heads said he would be in like what we call contempt of court, then we heard that if it was 2 Bahamian men fighting over a child in the same manner that they would not think twice about the judge directing them to do the DNA test, they would just do it. I don't think anybody knew what would happen to Stern if he did not show up with the baby for the swabbing because it has never happened before... but again Stern probably felt he was not in the position at the time not to show up with the baby with everything else possibly coming down on him at that time.
