Did KE panic and flee because her concocted "hotel detox, avoid the media at all costs program" wasn't working as expected and she felt she was losing ANS? Then, KE dug the hole deeper when she told the whole world how she left her as ANS was begging for her to stay. No commitment ceremony there!
To pharmaceutically manage ANS, in the manner they were, would be akin to de-fusing a bomb.... very risky.

IMHO there was never any attempt at a definitive De-Tox regimen. As stated before - the Methadone was left in the Bahamas - then when Anna showed signs of withdrawal symptoms - KE improvised with Chloral Hydrate.
OR
Someone forgot to bring the Methadone, or felt it too risky to get it back into the Bahamas, or thought they could get a replacement supply in Florida..but KE was not a licensed MD in Florida and her script for ClassV drug was turned down for FDA interstate approval.
