Pierce severed Smith's $50,000-a-month allowance and accused her of defrauding Howard "by way of excessive gifts or transfers of community property to strangers of the marriage, with some of whom she has had adulterous affairs." Smith responded with a letter from her husband that reads, in part, "I don't object to [Pierce] being guardian for my affairs, matter of fact he runs a lot of businesses and does very good. But he has no business coming between my wife and myself. She is the light of my life ...maybe he's a bit jealous...I have been a successful businessman, and I am not broke. I want my wife taken care of.''
This paragraph right here shows she deserved more than that greedy son was willing to let her have. People can call her a greedy whore all day, but that son of his took the cake as well!

What JHM did with his money was his business, IMO. He may have been correct in suggesting JPM was jealous.
If this report is accurate, both JHM and ANS were deprived. I feel sorry for both of them.
Her choices since then did not improve her situation.

On that Christmas tape, old man Marshall specifically mentioned the ranch as one of the things Anna should have, yet the son refused to give her the title to it. If I was in her shoes, I'd be more than a bit pissed. (can I say that?)
On the other hand, my brother as an heiress friend. She lives in a lovely mansion in Ct and has oodles of money --- but it all comes from a trust. She has no control over the fortune and she is the sole survivor. She receives an allowance from the trust. She can't sell the mansion, but the trust can, with proceeds of the sale going back into the trust. I assume the trust would purchase another house for her if that situation every arises.
Maybe that - a trust fund - was what the son was offering, but I doubt it if he also cut off her monthly allowance.
Who had the tape and why wasn't it allowed to be played in court?
