Back in the days of the uglier battles in the Religion Wars, it was basically a mocking response to the "Great Reformed Ping List" or the "GRPL."
The GRPL's kept insisting it was "just a ping list." But there were membership "requirements" and for a while it was being used (by some) to orchestrate some arguments/attacks. The list still exists, though many of the members have been banned.
KOETT stands for "Knights of the Eternal Time Table." We are the Knights who say "Neener, neener, neener." We don't have a ping list, so we're never really sure who we are.
For the most part over there the arguments no longer degenerate into the flame fests of 5-6 years ago. I rarely go over there anymore except to snark.
