Use about 100-200' of paracord. Hook it to the catapult base. It'll pull it automatically. More than likely, you won't launch cleanly unless we duct tape you into a nice fetal position. You won't be able to manually actuate your chute release while rag dolling through the air...

Um....I don't think you want to inflate a parachute on the castle....the solar winds would quickly drag you out to interstellar space...

Looks like that kitty has been munching on a few dust bunnies.

This isn't Spelljammer here. Our atmosphere is completely enclosed by the canopy. The worst that could happen with a chute is that you are on too tall and arc and bounce off the canopy, or too low an arc and end up getting your chute caught in the trees.

That kitty rolls on dust bunnies like a chinchilla.
She seems to think that roilling in dust will keep her fur in good condition, like chinchillas do.

Well, if I've got my space suit on I could tie a rope to my waste and the other end to the castle to help pull it along!

OK, parachutes INSIDE the canopy only...I'll work on a sign to post by the locks....

There ya go...That's the spirit!
You know...that would make a great sport....stand by a space lock with an open parachute...open the lock and WHOOSSSSHHHHH.....Better than bungee jumping.

Soon to be tried on the ISS..

"Better than bungee jumping."
Ohhhh, I don't know about using a bungee cord.
With my luck, instead of me springing back towards the castle, the castle would probably spring towards me (since I'm the 'motive power') and smack me hard.
That could really hurt!

*koff-koff*
We actually don't want to do anything that would interfere with the integrity of the canopy. Since we ARE self-contained, we really do need our H2O for plants, trees, animals and the forges.

To: Monkey Face
Don't worry.
I think I could come up with a 'force field' that would maintain the atmosphere and still allow us to open a 'window' to space to make the launch.

To: Monkey Face
Wouldn't matter.
A 'regenerating' force field would expand on it's own to cover whatever area it needed too.
What's even better, it would get it's power from 'free hydrogen' floating around in space and that would make it 'self sustaining'.
