My shipmates and I have spent months of confinement, boredom and monotony at sea, and that was on a little 240' ship, in a seastate 4 or 5 most of the time.

Astronauts can crack, and probably will to some degree. Best send each in separate containers. Or, use robotics except when fulfilling requirements for filing land use and mining claims. This is moot anyway under the Treaty. If the Treaty is repealed, the rules for filing land entry and mining claims to celestial resources would have to be reviewed to see if robotics suffice for marking the corners.
