As we settle into the nighttime of despair, fret not, for the Sun will rise again!!
Good morning!!
We, here, will never forget those who died on September 11, 2001, as we seek to protect the Republic from all who will do her harm!!
This is the grade snow removal personnel in Virginia get the day after the winter storm. Almost a full day after precipitation of all kinds have come to an end, we have:
** Hard pack in several places on main roads.
** Side streets often unplowed.
** Where side streets are plowed, berms left in main roads
** Roads not plowed to full width
** Turn lanes under impassable amounts of ice/snow.
** Sometimes lanes next to the turn lanes under impassible amounts of ice/snow.
** Lanes disappearing (unplowed) on far sides of intersection.
** Sand? You heard of that?
The only saving grace--it's bitter cold, and snow and ice become less slippery in such situations.
In other news, it is reported that Russia, India, and China appear to be performing a partnership to challenge United States domination of the world.
The London Times, in their article on the subject, writes about how these three countries, together, make up 20 percent of the world's economy.
That's nice. The United States, by itself, makes up 33 percent. Be careful of what you ask, you might just get it.
Oh, and a picture of our challengers...
Let's play, caption the photo...
For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.
Finding clothes is a nightmare. The styles and fabrics are awful.
Have found some decent sweaters and shirts at Monteray Bay. Need to check their sizing closely though as they fit bigger. (Mediums are too big and that is what I usually wear).

Sometimes Spiegel will have dresses that work.

Good luck!
I get that Monteray Bay catalog but haven't bought anything from them; thanks for the tips. I love the clothes I see there but wasn't sure about the quality.
Quality seems to be pretty good in the sweaters and shirts, better than the mall stuff. And, a smaller size is always nice. :-)
I don't know when this began, but I can remember the 60s when my girlfriend and her husband were upset their girls were not being taught art, literature etc, as we had been taught. Even home ec was about instant foods and not basic food planing etc, my area of interest. I Know I was a nurse, but my interest was and is homopathy and food. I don't think they teach music either, unless one is in a band..we were taught music appeciation.
If there are misspellings, blame it on my broken wrist. I'm typing, for the first time, with both hands. It's amazing which fingers are weak.
One other thing....their catalog is very nicely done...be sure and look at the same item online first....sometimes you can see a noticeble difference.
I'm glad to hear that about the quality, Rheo. And that's good advice about looking at them online.
I shared an extra catalog with a woman at church and I'll ask her if she's ordered anything from them yet. They really do put outfits together nicely, casual but stylish.
GREAT job on the threads today, Peach!!!
Thanks so much!
I just left a few good articles on a thread JR has going.
I'm not giving a big dinner party like Peach is, but I do have company coming tomorrow night and Sunday, so I've been cleaning, planning multiple meals, and grocery shopping.
I'm pooped and have decided to just let some things go until tomorrow. I may even bake a cherry cheese cake for dessert.
Right now, though, I have a very good book that is beckoning me. How's that for making excuses to keep from doing more housework? LOL
I noticed. :0)
Link for our convenience? Thank you, Dear Peach!
I told everybody that the cops should have exited the donut shops and arrested all of those people for impersonating a snow plow driver!
Hi, Two Thirds.
Because I like Rudy, there is a pretty vocal group on FR who is wanting me banned. So if for some reason that happens, I just want you to know that I've enjoyed talking with you through the years. I doubt it will happen, but a lot of others aren't so sure. LOL
Anyway, here's the thread:

It's a good thing we have company; it forces us to clean! LOL
Till - hope you're on the mend and heal quickly; I'm so sorry to hear about your broken wrist.
you seem to always be considerate & thoughtful in your responses.
Even if people disagree, if they do so with respect they should not be banned IMHO.
The idiots that join, trash all in US including our president, the values we hold dear, resort to name calling, & obviously have a socialistic agenda are the ones I cheer when shown the door.
I think Jim respects you for a lot of reasons. One learns on these threads..Lord knows I do.
When someone confronts you or disagrees with you the options are to fight blindly or to restudy & come back either changed or comfirmed in your mindset.
I dont think you are too closed minded to change but I think you are well read enough to NOT be thrown for a loop with data (true data that is) presented
WHAT THE @%&@*^^%???? Are these people willing to vote for the witch or the smoooooooth superstar-rockstar-midnightbasketball-cokehead if Rudy makes it on the ballot?????
The link didn't work BTW.
What Dolly said.....and....You better not ever be banned, Peach!
You add so many good things to FR. Your research is impeccable.
Link didn't work, but I hit your name and then went to "In Forum" and found your statements and responses.
Well done!
Good morning, everyone!
Good morning, L!
Just read in the WSJ that both State Farm and Alstate have left Mississippi for good
