Well, that's an odd little twist.

Pierce, who stood to inherit what Anna said Howard left her, is Howard's second son. His older brother was disinherited after a family squabble over (what else?) money.

And yes, Pierce died last June. His widow Elaine is now in charge of the Marshall's anti-Anna fight.
