Smith Loses Latest Court Battle (1/23/07)
Troubled star Anna Nicole Smith lost another battle in court yesterday, after a judge in the Bahamas threw out a case she had filed against her landlord. The former reality TV star had sued G. Ben Thompson claiming he had no basis for evicting her from her home because it had been given to her as a gift. According to entertainment website TMZ.com, the latest ruling clears the way for Thompson to proceed with his eviction lawsuit against Smith. Smith and Thompson were once romantically involved and he claims she told him he was the father of her baby, Dannielynn. The former Playboy Playmate quickly recanted her claim after learning Thompson had undergone a vasectomy several years earlier.

Smith Hospitalized in the Bahamas (11/1/06)
Reality TV star Anna Nicole Smith has been hospitalized with pneumonia at the same Bahamas medical centre where her 20-year-old son died under mysterious circumstances in September. Daniel Smith died while visiting his mother in hospital three days after she gave birth to daughter Dannielynn Hope Marshall Stern. Smith's attorney, Wayne Munroe, confirms the star is being treated at Doctors Hospital in Nassau. He says, "She has a slight case of pneumonia. We've had a sudden change of weather here due to a cold snap." Munroe said the hospitalization was most likely just a precaution since Smith had recently given birth adding, "I didn't gather it was anything serious." He also said Smith, who moved to the Bahamas during her pregnancy, has filed a lawsuit as part of a dispute with a South Carolina developer over the ownership of a waterfront mansion where she has been secluded since her son's death. Smith's ownership of the home, which her lawyer says she bought in July for $900,000, is the basis of her claim to residency in the Bahamas. In her lawsuit, she asks that the court recognize her purchase and reject a claim by developer G. Ben Thompson.

Police investigating the death of Anna Nicole Smith's son Daniel Smith are interviewing a Californian doctor in connection to the incident last month. The 20-year-old died on September 10 after having a heart attack brought on by a lethal combination of antidepressants and methadone. Authorities in the Bahamas traveled to the US to question Daniel's doctor along with three other people, after he died in the Nassau, Bahamas, hospital where his reality TV star mother had given birth to baby daughter Dannielynn just three days before. Reginald Ferguson, assistant commissioner for the Royal Bahamas Police Force says, "We don't have any information to cause us to change our statement that no criminality was involved." Ferguson declined to comment on who else the officers interviewed while in California. He says, "You're looking for anything you can find that can be evaluated as part of the evidence. You don't look for anything particular, you go to uncover what might have taken place." Police are expected to complete their investigation soon, possibly as early as next week, before authorities determine whether a jury inquest into the death is necessary
