Sounds like simply just a lot of nothing being fashioned, rigged and promoted into something.
The movie "Truman" takes on more and more reality for me it seems, looking at respondent American society/pop culture from a distance, what with all its tabloid obsessions, and non-issues elevated to urgency, and truly important issues hardly discussed--one wonders, are our OWN lives really THAT boring?? Talking heads like Nancy Grace (she must be milking it to death, I would imagine, just about now--though I cannot get her show in Japan) shouting and yelling into the screen at each American as if to dictate what is and should be of major impact to our own lives.
Sad she died, this woman, but also sad it seems that America is so fickle that it seemly craves, eats, digests on the whole this crass journalistic barf and then screams for more pablum. God help our country and our mass culture.
