and now why does TMZ say it is unclear what HKS was doing between 12 and 1:30 - It is unclear what Stern was doing between 12:00 and 1:30, but we're told he did not go back to the room during this timeframe.

They're probably trying to trace his every step every minute of the way. And the only evidence they have for a fact that they know isn't a lie, is the phone call. All the rest is still unclear.

From what I've read on TMZ, the police also have video tape from the Hotel lobby. Those are time-stamped, and are pretty usful.
