I am very surprised that they took his word as next of kin on when to stop trying to revive her. Of course, I am also surprised that her "commitment ceremony" husband wasn't with her at the hospital too.

My first thoughts, too. But then again, who would be there at the hotel to get rid of the "criminal" evidence besides Stern?

If that was my loved one, I would have been in that ambulance to accompany her to the hospital.
