When a thread is in the Smoky (as FR spells it) Backroom, FR people can uncheck the Smoky Backroom option in their subscription settings so that the thread does not pop up each time someone replys to the thread. It stays out of the Main active news listings that are moving on the left side of the screen.
When it is General/Chat FR people cannot remove a subscription to General/Chat and they continually see it in the main active news listings. (this is why we see so many people coming on the thread to "b*tch" about it)
The best way to help you under stand is... click on your ping page and select "More" - then My Subscriptions - you will see that Smoky Backroom can be subscribed to or unsubscribed to. - You cannot unsubscribe to General/Chat.
When I try that, it doesn't list it as something I can subscribe to?
And....we can say bad words in the SBR! LOL
On MY SUBSCRIPTIONS page, I don't see Smoky Backroom. I see:
