Anna Nicole Smith has died according to ABC News

Posted on 02/08/2007 12:39:03 PM PST by kcvl

Anna Nicole Smith collapsed in her hotel room at the Hard Rock Cafe and Casino in Hollywood, Fla., and was rushed to a hospital on Thursday. A Hollywood, Fla., fire department spokesman told MSNBC TV that the actress was unresponsive when the rescue unit arrived on the scene.

Sources confirmed to Access Hollywood that Smith was transported to Memorial Regional Hospital shortly after 2 p.m. EST on Thursday. Access Hollywood also is reporting that Smith was intubated at the scene.

Officials told the Miami Herald, "it does not look good."

I got to thinking about that the other night - more than I should, lol - and it's possible that Gerlene and King Eric are divorced, but it's just that no one ever says that.

OTOH, as decadent as all these people are, I don't know why I'm thinking it would be shocking for ANS and HKS to travel with a married friend and his mistress while leaving their baby with the friend's wifey back at home. Duh.

....finally they called for outside help

But they called Moe, not 911 (according to him). Did Brigitte ever claim SHE called 911? I don't know.... Maybe in the end, it doesn't matter, as ANS would have died anyway. But it does seem there was stalling going on and possibly some cover-up.

In my mind, it all goes back to the Wendy's cup on ANS bedstand, in the hospital room. Howard went out for food and brought it back for everyone... at the time Daniel was wide awake and offered the spare bed in the room to Howard, after eating he became sleepy and, according to reports I read on his death, sat down in the chair and fell asleep. Did Howard spike his Wendy's drink with Methadone?????

And then 10 minutes later, Big Mo walked in and also started helping. And another 15 minutes after that, HKS showed up. Somewhere in there, the paramedics arrived. Some of the paramedics worked on her, then the ambulance arrived, with more equipment and the *real* resuscitation efforts started.

20-30 minutes later, she was dead - and then another 20 minutes or so later, she was declared dead.

Maybe she had just cried wolf once too often for the others to get real worked up (yet again!) and feeling urgent. Note that I don't mean anyone after the entourage members - none of the professionals.

*Played possum* would've been a better choice of words where I said "cried wolf," lol.

Pills came to mind because it was reported he flushed the drugs before calling the nurses station for help with Daniel, but flush could as easily have been the drink with the drugs in it?????

Oh, in one of the recent interviews, HKS conveniently remembered that Daniel had said he "all of a sudden felt sleepy" the night before.

Also, I found where Wecht said the Lexapro was 7 times the normal dosage and the Zoloft was 6 times normal. Haven't seen anyone else saying anything about 20 times normal on the methadone, other than Hatten.

Also, there were 7 drugs total. I believe ANS had 12 total.

The issue of which jurisdiction controls is always a big issue in the law and if the paternity law in the Bahamas favors a person who is listed on the birth certificate, then it could be crucial, because, assuming Howard K Stern is not the father, he would argue that Bahamian law would apply and not California or Florida law.

I am aware that in the Bahamas that for purposes of inheriting your parents' estate, that if you are on the birth certificate, it is considered unassailable that you are a child for purposes of inheritance. However, it does not automatically mean that you are a parent for the purposes of a paternity fight and there appears to be a lot of confusion about this issue in media reports that I have read.

I think the truth is they were all afraid to call the paramedics, and waited until it was too late to do so... probably were told only Howard could make that call.

I truly believe that Anna went on drug binges and this why they did not get worked up about her being out cold once again. The calls to other people instead of 911 was so that a room/drug/alcohol clean up could be done before 911 was called.

Can someone explain the comment from one of these articles or shows that said Moe was helping his brother move when he got the call from his wife? (Stern & the other guy were purchasing the boat - while Moe was helping his brother move?)

Are Moe and Tas US citizens? - Did they meet Anna in Florida or did they come from the Bahamas with Anna?

No, she didn't... the outside help was Mo, which was totally asanine and initself more than suspicious. I believe it had to do with whatever had been going on in the room prior to her dying, when they were icing here down in the tub, which we know isn't the proper way to break a high fever, and her so-called refusal to go to the hospital...

Fact is there is too many unanswered questions and too many conflicting stories (when you start comparing what they have said on all the TV programs and news interviews).

I just don't think we know if Daniel took these drugs voluntarily or had his drink "spiked."

How can Wecht claim that to be non-suspicious then? What was his exact $80,000 opinion? If Daniel was not suicidal, why would he take such excessive (and deadly) amounts of drugs himself? The suicide option is much more plausible with ANS, but nobody has alleged that with Daniel, have they?

This article speculates that it had to be either suicide or homicide given the lethal overdose. Sorry if this has already been posted here.

I did some reseach on the Ben Thompson link.He did an interview with Greta 1-31-07.According to court TV message board from someone who watched it he said Gunter saw Howard remove pills from Daniel's jeans and then go into the bathroom and flush the toilet. The way this reads it sounds like at the house.http://boards.courttv.com/showthread.php?threadid=286005

Did Howard spike his Wendy's drink with Methadone?????
_________________________________________________

I believe so - but let's play Devils' advocate.

If Daniel's drink was not deliberately spiked to kill him -then the concoction was prepared/intended for ANS' drug fix.

So who overloaded what was intended as just a "drug fix"?

ANS or HKS?

That was only 2 or 3 days after her c-section, right? Most people are pretty out of it after a c-section for 4 or 5 days. I don't think she'd be going around concocting drug fixes. But who knows?! Also, this was not just a little "over-loading," but a lethal overdose. Was the methadone amount lethal in and of itself or in combination with the other drugs?

From the CourtTV transcript:

Michel Bryant: Wecht is a slippery guy. He first denied there were other drugs then went on to name them. He actually named all four and refused to name another that he says were found in "trace" amounts and might prove to be embarrassing to the family. So there will be battle of the experts because the drug amounts and identities will be clear once the Bahamian authorities provide their report. The only issue will be what combination, if any, caused the death. And is there one drug over another that was the predominate cause of death?

That you for that audio. I don't have a source other than NBC, and that this is obviously an interview that was done with the Hollywood Fire and Rescue crews, the afternoon of 8 Feb 2007. I transcribed everything but the very last sentence, which I could not make out.

------------------------------------------------------

Interviewer: Hello?

Unidentified voice: I'm ready

Int: OK, Here we go. You got everything? OK, just give me your name and your title, please

UV: Matthew Phillips, Hollywood Fire Rescue department spokesperson

Int: OK Matt, what can you tell us about what transpired this afternoon at the Hard Rock facility.

MP: Hollywood Fire Rescue received a phone call shortly after 2:00 to respond to the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino located on the Seminole Indian Reservation in Hollywood, Florida. Upon arrival our rescue crews were escorted to a guest room where they found an unresponsive female subject. At that time she was not breathing. We began our standard protocol of CPR and everything that goes with it, we then transported this female to Hollywood Memorial Regional Hospital, in Hollywood Florida.

Int: OK, this female, at the time she was being transported, was she still alive at the time she left the hospital..... or the time she left the hotel?

Phillips: She was not breathing and she was not responsive when our rescue crews arrived at the hotel.

Interviewer: Were the people that were with her able to give you any information about what transpired before she became unresponsive to them?

Phillips: I have received no information as far as any bystanders or whatever statements they were able to give to our rescue crew.

Interviewer: Was she in the room alone?

Phillips: Stand by. (To someone else:Was she in the room alone?)

Unidentified voice: She was in the room alone, she was found by her body guard who is a Miami paramedic.) Unintelligible noise.

Phillips: She was found by our rescue crew, alone in the room, and we were notified by her personal bodyguard.

Interviewer: OK, what can you tell us and I know there's certain restrictions about the information but in a situation like this, give us some idea what your paramedics would have done when they arrived on the scene to try to assist her.

Phillips:Stand by one moment. (To someone else: Do you want to go through basically what you guys did upon your arrival? He's asking, this is....yeah this is NBC.

Interviewer: Hey look, are you with the paramedics that were there?

Phillips: Pardon?

Interviewer: Are you with the paramedics that went to the call? Phillips: No, I'm not with the paramedics who were there, but we did have an engine crew respond.

Interviewer: OK, is one of them, that was actually there in the room with you?

Phillips: Yes, hold on

Interviewer: OK, thank you.

Unidentified voice: Hello

Interviewer: Yes, who am I speaking with now?

UV: This is Captain Fitzgerald.

Interviewer: Captain Fitzgerald, you were one of the people that responded to the scene?

Cpt Fitzgerald: Yes

Int: Tell me what happened when you arrived.

CF: Seminole rescue was already in the room with a lot of Seminole security, also her bodyguard and her husband, Howard Stern was on scene. He was concerned ...... so he was giving us her medical history.

Int: What was the situation with her when you arrived at the room?

CF: Seminole rescue was attempting CPR at the time Hollywood rescue 74 stepped in and took over the scene, intubated the patient, that means put the tube down the throat. We started an IV, we pushed all the medications, we took took 12 EDKGs [?] we attempted pacing her which would be an external pacemaker for the heart and we had electrical captures but no mechanical capture, which meant we couldn't get her heart beating.

Int: Was we alive when you all arrived?

CF: No, she was unconscious and not breathing.

Int: What did the family members or the bodyguard tell you about what transpired in the minutes up to that.

CF: That he came back to the room and found her unconscious. He put her on the floor and started CPR and called for help.

Int: Tell me, not just with her, but when you find a person under these kinds of circumstances and situations, cause we know there is certain information that you can't give out specifically, what do your people do, what would be a standard procedure in a case like this?

CF: Well, we would start with the basics. We've got to start with CPR, and then we intubate, put a tube down into the lungs so that we can control the airway, and we start CPR, start an IV, and without all the information from witnesses there's just certain medications that we push automatically, like Narcan for any chance of overdose, bicarb [?] cause we didn't know how long she was down, and epinephrine is like an adrenaline to start the heart, to get the heart started back on it's own, atropine ...there's a whole list of medications that we do as far as protocols go.

Int: Did she respond at all to anything you tried to do to help her?

CF: No, not that I saw.

Int: And the family members, was there anything that they said to you, that transpired during the course of the morning or early afternoon that would have given you any indication or given them any indication that she could have experienced this kind of trauma?

CF: No, we didn't get any information to that. As far as we know, she was left in the room, and then when they came back to the room, she was not breathing.

Int: Is there anything else you can add about what transpired in terms of your call and the time that you were there with her, before she was transported to the hospital.

CF: I mean, the inter-agencies worked real well together, Hollywood Fire Rescue and Seminole rescue was on scene. Seminole security for the Hard Rock cleared the hallways to transport her downstairs to get her in the truck. And then she did have a .....so all the agencies worked together as well as we could have, given the circumstances. There was just no way of knowing how long she'd been down, before she was discovered, which could make all the difference in the world. When you witness somebody pass out, then you can initiate care immediately. But if somebody passes out and its not witnessed, and they lay there for 20 minutes or so before they are found, it makes a much more difficult scenario to work our protocols and be successful.

Int: So you don't have any idea how long she could have been unconscious before you guys arrived?

CF: No, we never did get that information, how long she was left alone...no.

Int: And it's your belief that she was already deceased when you arrived on the scene?

CF: That's what......[????] a day or two?

I'm sure he said he contacted the concierge and had them call 911 from the road. It still makes no sense why his wife couldn't call. Spouses are close but are we to believe they have a psychic connection.
