Anna Nicole Smith collapsed in her hotel room at the Hard Rock Cafe and Casino in Hollywood, Fla., and was rushed to a hospital on Thursday. A Hollywood, Fla., fire department spokesman told MSNBC TV that the actress was unresponsive when the rescue unit arrived on the scene.
Sources confirmed to Access Hollywood that Smith was transported to Memorial Regional Hospital shortly after 2 p.m. EST on Thursday. Access Hollywood also is reporting that Smith was intubated at the scene.
Officials told the Miami Herald, "it does not look good."
Hope he took his helmet and vest...

How nice he was here for the baby's arrival. It will be hard for him to leave, I'm sure. But he has my prayers and my thanks!!!
What a sad picture. And all those legs standing around just doing, well Nothing.
This is neither here nor there, in terms of actual legal status, but I've been wondering about the tribal reservation on which ANS died, and what is its sovereign status.
The death took place officially at the hospital, is my understanding, which is in Hollywood FL (Broward County?). The autopsy was performed by the county coroner. The hotel room where she was found, however, was on a tribal reservation, and the police chief there is specifically called "Seminole tribal Police Chief Charlie Tiger."
Just an exercise in authority, handing off of same, that sorta stuff.
FYI...
Anna's current estate lawyer is Kent Richland per this article. He has been in contact with Stern as recently as 2/8/07 per this article.

'Dale Earnhardt law' may shield Smith autopsy photos

If she died on the land of a recognized US tribe, it's an FBI case. If the hotel was off the reservation, it's local police.
The Seminoles petitioned for land for a Casino, but it's not a large reservation like in Arizona. It's just a piece of their land that they owned...don't remember if it's Oklahoma Seminoles or the Florida ones (who never signed a peace treaty).
I worked in Oklahom and Minnesota, where tribal land jurisdiction was a patchwork. For example, my home in Oklahoma was two blocks from Indian camp, and when you went up the street there was a sign warning you not to carry a gun and that the FBI would prosecute you. But on our side it was okay...
close to 4000 hits. For crying out loud people, get a life.
New thread at post 5000. Stay tuned.
Unfortunately, that sounds believable.
It could be worse...we could be doing this on myspace!
I was going to say that I read yesterday how the hotel is on tribal land, but that I must be mistaken since the FBI are not involved in this case; then I found this:
HOLLYWOOD, Fla. – (December 7, 2006) – The Seminole Tribe of Florida today announced it has contracted to acquire Hard Rock International, Inc. and other related entities from The Rank Group Plc for approximately $965 million. Closing is expected in early March, 2007.
The purchase appears to be in escrow, or whatever the term would be. Guess that explains it.
LOL
