I love the Far Side cartoons. There is one with a shark looking in his bathroom mirror. He’s got several on his neck. The caption says, “The heartbreak of remoras.”

LOL! In case you are not a couch potato there was a tv commercial for Tegrin shampoo that talked about “the heartbreak of psoriasis”. It was one of those slogans that took on it's own life.

3rd- 10,000
4th- 7,000

No, that belonged to the Family Edition.

Amazing Race Put on Hold
(No TAR On CBS This Fall)

May 16, 2007 -

... Also of note is that while The Amazing Race has been picked up, it will now air as a midseason replacement, which may indicate a shift in the series only programming one season a year, instead of two, as it has for the last several years. The New Adventures of Old Christine will also now be a midseason show.

http://tv.ign.com/articles/788/788765p1.html

So like American Idol and 24, TAR will now air only between January and May.

In other news, CBS has canceled Jericho, Close To Home and The Class.

So TAR will return in January along with 24 and AI. What are we supposed to do in the meantime??

I don’t know. I always ask myself that. It is sick that I look forward to these shows gluing my week together. As my options shriveled I actually decided to expand and follow The Bachelor but I became so nauseated watching those whores I felt like I was on another planet or something.

I know what you are saying, but in the evening it has become 'normal' to sit around and watch an hour of TV. I don't always have a good book around and I have to share the computer with my DH.

I have grown to hate scripted shows because they are always the same thing, doctors, lawyers, whatever fight in the operating room, courtroom, whatever and then have sex with each other.

I enjoy the scenery of TAR, I admit to liking Top Chef. I sew, so I enjoyed Project Runway. I have never watched the dating shows, can't stand the chicks.

After Monday there will be no '24' to make Monday more fun. Oh well.

Yes, that is the famous outhouse. It doesn’t stink inside. What a relief. There is nothing in front (or in back) for at least half a mile hence the picture window.

I was just reading an article on Fox’s lin-up. They basically have redifined the tv season as January - May. They will premier most of their new shows in January to coincide with American Idol and 24.

American Idol went to once a year so as not to dilute it’s shelf life. TAR is probably thinking the same thing.

Frankly, I watch it for the background scenery, too. That is also why I watch the Olympics. Plus the Tour de France shows the roads and regular people standing along side. I may have a book and I don’t have to share my computer but still I like to watch a tv show. I’m down to TBS reruns of sitcoms, Sex and the City, and movies.

I want to learn to sew well. So there is that.

What kind of books do you like? I recently found this cute series by Joanne Fluke. They are not exactly hair-raising, sort of like Murder She Wrote. In fact the website of the author is http://www.murdershebaked.com/ . Each book contains several recipes for food mentioned in the story. The first one I read was the Lemon Meringue Pie Murder. I plan to finish the series.

I have a friend who might enjoy that website.

I tend to read history and biographies. I really don't like most fiction. Love bios though. I will work on my photography this summer I suppose.

"CBS has canceled Jericho"

Very dumb decison by CBS, IMHO. Reality TV can be fun, but it's also nice to see real actors acting! And I thought Jericho had some good actors.

Dumb decison.

Dumb decison.

I agree. I've only seen a couple of episodes of Jericho, but I liked it.
