me too...good riddance!
Now off to the Heckle thread :)
Good. I'm glad they are out.
Heckle Thread?
The spoiler site I found is 2 for 2 on who was eliminated and in the correct order. I was wondering how Kevin and Drew would end up in last on this leg when they weren't last in the vehicle until the idiot would not go over 40 kph.
Not them. The team that gets eliminated next week has something in common with the team that got eliminated tonight. I will say no more. Well they bitch and complain a lot, but don't they all.
Great show last night, except as a left coaster, I can't play on this live thread. Big sigh. It's a wonder anyone could do anything in Ecuador, as it's at a very high altitude where oxygen is in short supply.
The right team got eliminated for sure. What an idiot, but perhaps his brain needed more O2 to operate.
S_J (and anyone else) - Was it just us or was the background music way to loud and annoying? We couldn't even understand what the racers were saying. We kept trying to fastforward to get to a place where there was no music, but finally gave up 20 minutes into it and turned it off.
No one else notice this?
Maybe, but Drew was having problems in the first episode. Charla outran him at the very beginning of the race. Charla! And later, he fell down all over the road and whined for ten minutes about how he dislocated his shoulder--while moving his arm. Then the altitude sickness stuff ...
IMO, Drew never wanted to be in this Race and he was looking for any excuse to get out.
I didn't notice it on TAR, but I have noticed it on 24.
Sometimes it helps if you turn your TV stereo off or switch it to "mono".
While an early plane delay set Rob & Amber behind, the pair continued to set the pace in Chile as they collected another first place finish. On the brink of elimination, sparks flew between Charla & Mirna and beauty queens Dustin & Kandice over a taxi, but in the end, a missed speed limit sign caused Kevin and his ailing partner, Drew to step on the mat in last place.
After Charla & Mirna and David & Mary claimed eighth and ninth place, best friends Kevin & Drew stepped onto the mat in last place. Right after Phil told the pair they had been eliminated from the race, Kevin told Drew to be a good sport after he walked off the mat. The difficult leg ultimately took its toll on Drew who said, "I can't breathe. My back hurts. My feet hurt from driving. I tried my hardest. It's all I can ask. Kevin stepped up and held us together." Kevin noted, "We came into this as a team. If I were hurting he would certainly pick up the slack for me. I'll look back on this as a great opportunity. I wouldn't have passed it up for the world, but it's bittersweet."
Thanks for your work on this thread, SJ.
I hope Charla & Mirna go next. They remind me of gypsies (not in a good way) or something. I know they are Armenian, born in Syria, so maybe their demeanor is a cultural thing.
I could stand them a little better the first season they were on, but this season, they've just irritated me.
We've noticed it on 24 as well. Last night we even turned the surround sound off in hope it would help. We'll try switching to mono tonight.
Thanks so much for the recap, sj.
When they set off for Santiago, Chile, I remembered that Rob and Amber had been there before, possibly giving them an advantage over the other teams. Not that they need an advantage, as they seem to have all the advantages built in. Amber rarely bickers with Rob and does exactly as he says....she whipped that earth moving machine around like a pro just by following his directions. Two smart cookies, but you never know in this game when a delayed flight or lousy cabby can cost teams the game.
And so we watch!
Last time Romber was on, I hated them. Then I watched the Survivor All Stars where they 'hooked up' and they were so cute! Now they're my favorite and I hope that they win, they just seem to dominate every time!
Add to that list, David and Mary. "Hey, Mary, you're in a race to win money, not friends".
Yeah, good ol' Mary. "I thought Myrna and Schmyrna were our friends!" You've known them all of 3 days...get a clue!
The thing with Rob and Amber is that they are nice to each other. That says a lot in my book. They've had cameras on them so much of the time, you would think they would start bickering. However, I've seen them upset with one another, but not fighting.
I think they are pretty smart because they don't have any talent when it comes to acting, but they are doing the most of capitalizing on their 15 minutes of fame.
