The fact that he said more than once it was oil makes me think he was pulling a fast one. JMO But that stuff had a distinct odor and not of oil. Those guys have to know by now what oil smells like. The inspector knew right away it wasn't oil just by the smell and feel of it.
We all know his team did not have the speed to get into the race, sooooooooo they took a chance??
I really don't understand the Evernham, Rousch things. That really puzzles me.
I know. Did he say that after the second intake that Nascar didn't like? I don't remember. He said that several times, but I thought most of that was from the FIRST confiscated intake. After the SECOND one....?
I get all giddy when the "hind sight" thing kicks in but when Nascar took the SECOND intake manifold, it was, "hello boys - it's not the intake manifold."
Personally, I have never really "liked or disliked" Mikey, he was always Dale Jr's team mate....and they made some great commercials. He was a "value added" character in the cast of Nascar.
What he did, the Toyota thing, took balls (no offense, ok?) - big brass ones. I'm sure he is making some money off of this but the risk was huge, his name all over everything, he was / is the face on the Nascar Toyota attempt. He bet everything, "all in."
He has been around long enough to understand the consequences of an infraction like this. It does not make sense to me, that he would risk all of that and do something stupid like this. Maybe he did, I dunno, hopefully we will get "the rest of the story" at some point.
OTOH, Chad got caught last year and yet we had 3 other teams try the same thing (generic, messing with aero) this year......Ummmm, hello?
Go figure.
Sure was good to hear (at PC) the "Southern Burton's" voice on the TV....lol
