No commercial that appeared last night during Super Bowl XLI directly addressed Iraq, unlike a patriotic spot for Budweiser beer that ran during the game two years ago. But the ongoing war seemed to linger just below the surface of many of this years commercials.

Not that there's anything wrong with that... < /seinfeld>
I think the game is still going on, and its still the 4th of February. Odd that they would be so quick to get this story/shrewd social commentary/propaganda out at this time. But then again, maybe not.
Yeah, but that's related to the Iraq War too. I don't know how- but it's gotta be.
Now I don't even want to know what "the hidden door" is all about.
>>directly addressed Iraq,
One ad for Prudential kept saying "a rock, a rock"...
so that almost sounded like "Iraq"... :)
NYTimes is channeling stupid.
I did notice that the first couple ads were "violent", and although they were suppose to be slapstick they werent funny. But that didnt have anything to do with the war. Thats ridiculous. This guy should be a laughing stock at the paper.
I thought the ads were pretty bad. And they really overdid it with race. I wondered why, but then remembered that this super bowl has two black, er, I mean, african-american coaches.
Best ads were: the hitchhikers, grand theft auto (for Coke), and GoDaddy.
Boring ads. This writer wanted to see Iraq in the violence. What else is new at the NYSlimes?
...and GoDaddy...
I thought that was the one most representative of the war. Isn't that what our guys are fighting for?!
(And in a way yes. Wouldn't be the same with them all wearing burqas!)
Haha, exactly. "Democracy. Whiskey. Sexy!"
They see every thing with Iraq-tinted glasses over there. Must be a depressing life hoping for our failure in Iraq and trying to undermine their own country here at home.
The "Homosexual Snicker Candy Bar" ad was atrocious. My kids were totally grossed out.
I wonder the NY Slimes thinks of that ad? Since they hire sooooo many gays, I am sure they approved. When the two me mutilate their chest hair at the end of it, was that a reflection of the war also?
Pathetic.
Who writes these commercials? Ten year olds?
Last night?
Talk about pulling MSM pork out of a can.
It was as if Madison Avenue were channeling Doc in West Side Story, the gentle owner of the candy store in the neighborhood that the two street gangs, the Jets and Sharks, fight over. Why do you kids live like theres a war on? Doc asks plaintively. (Well, Doc, this time, there is.)
This writer is either on drugs or lives in some type of fantasy land
I didn't see all the commercials, but many of this years bunch certainly seemed to lack any cleverness or wit.
