Rah! Rah! Robert A. Heinlein...

It was an essay Spider Robinson wrote applauding Heinlein. Robinson suggested Heinlein was a conservative, as I recall (Robinson is not -- a libertarian at best).

I don't think RAH can be called a conservative other than in a fiscal sense.

Anybody so obviously fascinated by gender-switching, homosexuality, incest and other interesting sexual variations doesn't fit my definition.

RAH was really a pro-military libertarian - his books give social conservatives and welfare-state liberals hives, but they have inspired two entire generations of SF writers all across the political spectrum - myself included. ;)
