Thanks, oldngray. Speaking of school boards, I am following a situation in the township just north of ours (different county) through a friend of mine. They had a really good superintendent who had won numerous awards and was well-respected. After November's election, 4 new members came on the board (all women) who proceeded to say they had lost confidence in the superintendent and proceeded (despite 3 other members voting against it) to put him on administrative leave. No explanation for this was offered.

Peaople started asking questions and the board refused to answer. People started showing up at board meetings and were ignored. When they finally took to shouting, they were escorted from the room by ARMED GUARDS.

This is a real disaster. They still have to pay his contract, they are paying another guy to function as a temporary superintendent, and they have hired an extra attorney for the four board members. The other three members have not been told WHY the superintendent was fired.

This is rapidly turning into a real circus. At the last board meeting theboard president (one of the four) started ranting about how principals and teachers weren't doing their jobs. Now a bunch of people are looking for other work because this group will fire anyone at the drop of a hat.

By the way...all four of these nutcases are.....democrats!
