Good place for builders to get established, plenty room for lots of then, if they are honest of course AND hire workers who can say more than 'boss gone to Home Depot, he be back in 20 minutes' (illegal workers).

Land prices are skyrocketing, in the county land that sold for 7,000 an acre pre hurricane now going for 12,000 plus, being sold too, people are getting away from the gulf waters. Glad we bought when we did. I keep telling SIL he needs to get this place reappraised, for insurance purposes and just to have piece of mind.

Drawbacks living in the country are numerous, lack of stores in the area, in our case, 25 miles to town, 'vomits' running around like in skunks, coons, snakes, deer, etc. BUT the piece of mind is so soothing, no horns, no blaring radios, no speeders (with the exception of one family).

I like doing things for folks, been like this all my life and now I am the 'official pasture cutter' for all the neighbors as most work, I don't, no need in punishing the animals. Oh, did I mention this gives me something to do?
Did I mention that I am very proud of my tractor and what is a tractor for anyhow, to use it of course.

One thing I LOVE to do is give eggs away being I am getting 18 to 20 every other day. The neighbors bring me empty egg cartons and they get them back full of eggs, bit ole brown ones, yolks golden as the sun setting. Yes, I am getting some new little wee ones this spring cause mine are getting old but still productive. I am also getting some guineas, turkeys and maybe a couple of peacocks. Jason wants a duck so, a duck (or two) he will have. Yep, I have learned 'old McDonald has a farm" (again).
