"Wrong. I don't set the facts. I don't depend on FR for the facts."
OK, I'll bend. Please tell me where I, a common man, can get the REAL facts? BTW: I don't care what the RNC says or does. They have lost my support. I'm a Conservative not a repub.
This may be bad news for you. There is no one there to spoon feed the facts to you. Always beware of those that try to spoon feed you.
For example: After the Senate completed their bill last spring, Sessions sprang forth with info presented to the Judiciary Committee by an economist that said that illegals and legals drive down wages.
But, for those who didn't want to listen to Sessions' interpretation of the facts, the Judiciary Committee has a website where testimony from 5 economists could be read. Of course the other economists disagreed with the economist that Sessions was quoting. The degree to which wages are depressed is really small. Plus, the US has a bountiful safety net for low wage earners.
Add to this, Sessions' was taking statements from the economists testimony out of context. He was actually talking about how the low skill/low wage workers benefit in comparison to semi-skilled and high skilled. If you bring in a lot of low skilled workers the semi and high skilled workers will benefit relatvely more. Converely, if you bring in a lot of high skilled workers, the semi and low skilled workers would benefit relatvely more.
All this confirms the study done by the Dallas Fed Bank several years ago on the economic benefits of immigration to the SW US.
It is also in line with Greenspans concept of a robust labor supply as an inflation beater.
The good thing about the internet is that you or I can find out what we need to know. We don't have to rely on what Dan Rather or Senator Sessions tell us.
