CHICAGO -- Pam Branka would often talk about the recent murder of a manager at a Burger King in suburban Chicago, but she never believed the same fate could befall her at the Burger King where she worked for 15 years in a small northeast Illinois community, her husband said.
The 46-year-old mother of one and a manager at the Burger King in Momence, about 50 miles south of Chicago, were found dead inside the fast-food restaurant on Saturday, Kankakee County Coroner Robert Gessner said. He identified the other victim as Paul Jones, 49, of Donovan.

I used to get killer trots from fast food too, until I figured out that it was the ARTIFICIAL MAYONNAISE!!
I can eat real, fresh mayonnaise, though I prefer Miracle Whip, but fake mayo is truly BBAADD!! How do you MAKE fake mayo, anyhow? NO, I DON'T WANT TO KNOW!!
Just my personal experience with BK, Subway and Wendy's. Mayo on = lotsa time in the little room. No mayo, no problem.
I am not familiar with fake mayo. My BK hamburger had mustard, no mayo. The trots continued for about 4 weeks, gradually being less and less. THAT is not normal for getting bad food but I don't know what it was. I had something similar many years ago that I caught in Switzerland but it was even worse. I haven't been back to Switzerland either. LOL
"Things look bleak now said Scarlett, but tomato is another day."
I want to see the police take the perps away in the patty wagon.
The thing is it was a store opening. The one opening the store, they all know, has the safe/alarm combo and is almost always so hurried they forget they are at the biggest risk. I was, for several years, a manager in the retail fast print/ship industry. I used to worry about my openers and closers the most---they were all alone. I did everything I was allowed to do for them security wise--I even bought them all d-cell maglites at my own expense--it's never enough.
Who was that RINO governor who suspended all executions in Illinois?
Lettuce pray it happens quickly.
Lyin' George Ryan.
Yeah, somebody is gonna be in a pickle over this.
I hope whoever did this fries.
Lettuce not be too hasty here.
They'll ketchup with the perps....
The first sight the perps will see in the hereafter.
Totally irrelevant.
Anyone working in a Burger King is most likely unable to afford a legal firearm.
"Anyone working in a Burger King is most likely unable to afford a legal firearm".
That's a bit of a generalization. And anyway, there are quite a few inexpensive handguns on the market that are perfectly legal. Apart from this, fast food pays better than ever in many areas because people just don't want to work a 'McJob'.
Or is it that you would be frightened of the prospect of a person of lesser financial means being armed?
Still irrelevant.
I'll bite----not that it is relevant whether I do or not---
what exactly *is* relevant?
I think the King did it. I mean, he's this creepy, pastic-faced stalker...
It is creepy. When I was a kid I remember the live action ads with a velvet clad king. Sort of looked like some parody of a 70's disco/pornstar guy or something.
I guess they are making comentary on the ever-present fiberglass statues of Ronald over at McDonald's (which they are making harder to steal).
You know, he kind of looks like Charles Bronson.
Dude, I just died laughing at that.
Your implication that a CCW law would have made any difference in this incident.
It might have. Probably not directly. But people who carry tend to be aware types anyway--that's WHY they carry. It's a self-selection process to become a victim in that sense. A harsh statement but true. If the victims here had been of that mind, they might have been OK because they would have been armed.
