ditter,

You know how we here at FR complain relentless about a slanted MSM? Well, guess what? They do the SAME thing about pit bulls.

I was on the danger dog board of my local county's animal control and BY FAR, the biters were not pit bulls. We definitely had some, don't get me wrong, but most were labs, chows, etc. (ie popular breeds). The media is very sensationalizing and your not going to hear of the other breeds being aggressive because it doesn't make for good headlines.

Most pit bull owners that have questionable pets keep them tied in the yard, they will NOT spay or neuter, they are neglectful or abusive because it makes their dogs meaner on purpose. I had a guy come in the vet where I worked that kept his dog in the trunk of his car and EVERY DAY he would tie it to the car door and drive 8 miles and make it run next to the car so it would be strong.

It truly makes me sick. But I assure you, if you meet a pitbull in a good family, you will love the dog.

I hear what you are saying but if cocker spaniels and dachshunds start killing people I am sure the MSM will not be able to suppress it.

Is there a difference between the jaw of a pit bull and a lab? Is there a difference between the pressure applied and is there a "locking" of a pit bull's jaw vs. that of a lab? I have heard that there is a huge difference. Is this true? If it is, I think that is a distinction. Also, is there a difference between when a lab bites a kid? When a lab bites, is it usually once or twice or is it an all out attack that is hard to stop? The stories I read of pit bulls seem to be an all out attack that takes multiple people to stop and not just a dog bite. I am not for government intervention except severe consequences and mandatory put down of dog when it attacks, but these are the concerns I have about pit bulls. Last summer Joey Porter's two pit bulls got out and killed a neighbor's miniature horse. He got his dogs back. I have a major problem with that. But, something tells me the neighbor can now buy 30 or so miniature horses.
