Is there a difference between the jaw of a pit bull and a lab? Is there a difference between the pressure applied and is there a "locking" of a pit bull's jaw vs. that of a lab? I have heard that there is a huge difference. Is this true?I have always heard that the "locking" story is an urban myth that actually reflects a perception of the pit bull's stubborn streak. Being stubborn myself, it makes for a good match...

(Well I'm sure I'd feel much worse if I weren't under such heavy sedation...)

That is why I was asking a vet those questions. So, you bite people and don't let go because you are stubborn? ;)
