I thought it was interesting that when the interviewers mentioned something about the show being from the Bush school of "good" vs "bad" MLR said how we the viewers like seeing Jack saving the world. And then when they asked her if 24 was conservative, she said not totally since the show has had two African American (and Democratic) presidents and powerful women (although there are powerful conservative women out there as well). Good job staying neutral though Mary Lynn:)
this is a portion of the MLR interview:
"Simon (reading an email from a listener named PJ): 24 is fast paced and its best if you dont think about the details too much. If you actually do, 24 is a promo for the George Bush school of problem solving. We know whos good and bad and well torture and kill anyone because were good and theyre bad.
MLR: well that could be true. But I also think thats what makes it a success. Because as an audience member you hope theres somebody out there like Jack whos trying to save everybody.
Simon: its inately a conservative program?
MLR: Um I dont know if I completely agree with that. but I also understand the point of that. Theres also an African American, its our second President. There are also strong female parts in the show.
later on:
MLR: are we done talking about terrorism and security? Cause I really have a lot to say about that (joking/laughing).

I loved her first answer. Most actors would find that as an opportunity to bash Bush, but MLR said that's the reason we all love 24: cause we want to see a show about a guy who's willing to protect the lives of Americans.
Go Mary Lynn!
