I'm a hard rightie who is paranoid about all things left. I just don't see the leftist bent here. Yeah, the pres. is an impotent lefty, but that's just it. He gets duped over and over again. He caves into demands from the terrorists who play him like a puppet. The dumb family that ACHmed took hostage are obviously lefties. The father got smoked because he obeyed, then the terrorists double-crossed him. The wife disobeyed the terrorists and thus saved her son, who was about to be wasted and even willingly got on his knees and turned around as ordered, to be executed by a neighbor he foolishly called "friend." Assad got his life saved by Jack because he got on the right side of the political struggle ( or so it appears). Sandra, the pres's sis, is obviously a leftwing zealot without a clue about reality who destroyed evidence because she was unhappy - or has something sinister to hide. I don't know how much clearer the message can be, to the extent there is a message.
