It’s going to be interesting to see how he handles this for 7 days...I’m afraid his neck is going to get sore...I may get some more bute to start giving him towards the end. I don’t think i want to give him bute for 7 days straight, but a little the last 3 days won’t hurt anything.

At least it’s not like Tetanus, where the shot itself makes them sore.

Can you alternate and give some in the rump?

You may want to work him on his neck suppling exercises each day to help him to keep from getting stiff. It may help to keep the medicine from becoming encysted and making big knots too.

Last fall we had to give Jake injectable antibiotics because he would not eat his food with it on there, no matter what we tried. We gave 10cc a day for 7 days and definitely by the end of the week he was not happy to see us!
