Yikes! Good for you the good Samaritan! Glad you got him caught with no problems to anyone... and I hope he actually belonged in the barn you put him in and doesn’t really live down the road somewhere! Did you leave a note or anything explaining why he was in that stall?

Oh, I knew this horse and his owner enough to know that he belonged there. I had looked at him back when I first started breeding the mares several years ago. He’s a registered TWH. I called the guy and left him a message on his answering machine telling him about it. He called back the next day to thank me and tell me how he got out. Seems some of the help had put him in a paddock behind the barn to get some exercise and he figured out how to open the gate. I’m sure that whoever it was got their butt chewed for it, and rightfully so.
Bummer about the eye problems. Hopefully it’ll be something that’s easily taken care of.
