I've got camels across the highway from me but I have never seen a baby camel (or a wet one for that matter) :)

We are located on Highway 50, 22 miles East of Carson City, Nevada. Not only are we on the historic Pony Express route, but also the route used by strings of camels carrying salt from the Fallon salt marshes to the Virginia City mines in the 1860's. Nearby, in Dayton, NV, are the Camel Barns that housed some of the camels used to haul supplies up to Virginia City. How interesting:)

There use to be an exotic animal dealer right on the main road thru Bixby. They had kangaroos. Now that was fun to see. My son was friends with the grandson of the lady that owned them. Charlie and Kristy got to see babies that were still in the pouch, altho not the pouch of the momma kangas. For some reason, they had to take the babies away at a certain age, (they stay in the pouches a long time), and they lived in fake pouches that hung on doorknobs in the ladies house:) They’d come out, to eat and play awhile, then crawl back in. Kristy said it was really cool and was going to take me to see them, but before I got to go, she sold them all and got out of the business.:(
