On the other hand, this other mare pinned her ears the first time I walked up to her stall. Maybe I look like (or smell like) somebody who Done Her Wrong.

That happened to me with a mare once. She would have liked to do me serious harm as soon as she looked at me, and I never laid a hand on her or treated her poorly. She just Didn't Like Me At All. She would corner me in a paddock and then turn her butt to me and kick, and once she ran me through the fence.

I had to bounce a bucket off the nose of one of my trainer's horses once.

But he was that way to everybody. It was nothing personal. He was just a Bad, Mean Horse.

She eventually sold him to somebody who was going to compete him professionally in three-day. He was just too dangerous to keep, with all the little kids around the barn.
