My mother's dog used to chase the cat for about a year, (He used to bark in her face to make her run, and then give chase) until she turned around and gave him a good swat on the nose. Now she torments him! He's terrified of her. My mother had to come home from work early one day because the landlord had called and said that the dog was barking his head off, which was unusual. Mom comes home to find the cat cornering the dog against the bed, and he was too chicken to go around her.
And another strange thing that the cat does... whenever someone yells at the dog, and shouts "BAD DOG!" she's come blazing from wherever she is in the house and attacks him, hissing and spitting.

I'm back with two more terms that I hope you can help me with. From Robert E. Lee, Jr's book about his father.
"My misgivings were fully realized, for Traveller would not walk a step. He took a short, high trot - a buck trot, as compared to a buck-jump - and kept it up to Fredricksburg, some thirty miles away."
What is a buck trot and what is a buck jump.
Thank you very much.
