I always had a problem with riding my old gelding Tennessee at home for that very reason. At the time I just had him and one mare, Truly, and when I rode either one of them, they were both so tore up about being separated that it was almost more trouble than it was worth because of all the screaming and fence running. Now if I could get far enough away that they couldn’t see and hear each other then it was better, but he always had his mind more on getting back to the barn than on what I was telling him to do. And I realize that that is a training issue, and I guess I wimped out and just didn’t ride much at home because of it. It was just so much easier to go somewhere else where you didn’t have that problem. So I’m not much help am I?! ;o)

I have the same problem at my place, plus I really don't have much time during the week to ride so it is easier to trailer somewhere and have a peaceful ride.
