Here's a few more pictures. This is where we crossed a dam. There was lake on both sides, the far side was really steep and way down....I don't like riding across this place:).
You can't really tell from this picture, but this is overlooking a canyon that is called Horseshoe Canyon because of it's shape. It's pretty far down too.
Walking thru camp after a ride meeting.
Another camp picture. There really weren't all that many riders there. I think gas prices kept a lot of people from coming. I think the ride started with 42, and finished with 36.
A new horse that a friend of mine picked up from the trainer this weekend. He's a Missouri Foxtrotter, which is a fairly popular breed in this region. The lady whose horse this is is watching the trainer she sent him to lunge him. From my observation it takes a very confident rider to handle this breed...They are mostly rode by men, and trainers. They seem a pretty hot breed.

I love those pictures of the scenery... this is all on a private ranch? I’d love to own all that. It looks very pretty.
RE the dam... well, at least the landing at the bottom is soft ;~)
How did the foxtrotter do? I’ve been wondering about gaiteds in these kinds of competitions. It would seem right up their alley.
