They both need worming and lots of feed. Also need a farrier soonest. Bob did learn today that the fault is not the man who leased her but the woman (breeder) where she was being kept. The man knows nothing about horses except that he loves them and was being taken to the cleaners by the woman. He is most happy to have her here and in our care. He wants Bob to take his other mares when they get ready to foal and see them through that. How we will be able to manage that I don't know but I guess we'll try. Bob also said Friday is home for good :)

Well I'm glad that things are working out and that you were able to make the best out of a bad situation. Did you know that the fellow you were leasing to didn't know anything about horses? I agree with Cindy that she looks unwell. Or perhaps tired of being pregnant. :-) Have you done away with the lease now?

I'm going to be writing cover letters all day, and then I'm going to reward myself this afternoon by going to a horse show. I'll take pictures.

Oh, dear! She doesn't look good. I hope a worming and some good feeding will set her right.

Too bad that your horses had to wind up in the middle of a soap opera! Hopefully no lasting harm will come of it.

It’s good you have them home, and there was no trouble.

She has lost some weight, but she’s not too bad...I’ve seen worse. I bet it won’t take long to pick her back up.

Duchess, I’m sure you’re glad you got her back, and I’m glad you got her when you did, she was only there a few months, right? She was headed downhill fast.

I’m sure she’ll come around in your care, and I’m glad it wasn’t a bad scene with the guy.

Amazing how fast she went down, for just being there a few months. She was giving all she had, to that baby. What did the other horses on her property look like?

I was looking at your pictures again. In that third picture, are those bales of hay laying outside of horse runs? That would sure be convienent for feeding. Do you have some type of vehicle you carry the bales there and drop them off as you need them?

I was also wondering how you are going to feed the mare, Friday?, now that she is home? Do you know what and how much she was getting there to help figure what you can safely give her now? Or are you going to just go back to feeding her what you did before?

She was sure a stout thing in the before pictures:).

Also from the pictures, was the guy that had her living like in an RV park? Did he just have panels set up there?
