Maybe not. They may have just gone up on the by-the-foot price and the whole-roll price may not have gone up. The other co-op that I use won't sell it by the foot. You have to order the whole roll. And I guess they do that because if you're selling it by the piece, there's always going to be some left over at the end of the roll that's too small for anybody to want and they just have to eat the cost of that.

The way I found out about it was from a guy I work with who is getting into raising cattle and is enrolling in all these Agricultural Extension Service farm programs where they split the cost of certain improvements to your farm like ponds and cross fencing and gravel work like this and in return you agree to abide by their specifications so that aggricultural run-off is lessened and all that stuff. They really promote this stuff for high-traffic areas like around barns, feed lots, hay rings, farm roads and stream crossings, and I can see why. It really cuts down on mud and erosion.
