This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the previous threads we have had a great time talking through lessons, training, horse lamenesses, illnesses and pregnancies... and always sharing pictures and stories.
I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts look for it there and wake the thread up!
I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and MissTargets will now be pinging everyone most mornings. Let MissTargets and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in . There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news . Legislation that might affect horse owners.
So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.

New folk and occasional posters, jump right in and introduce yourselves, tell us about your horses, and post pictures if you've got them!
Congrats on the new trailer, Frog!
Going to be in the 90's again. I am home bound with no wheels. My truck is in the body shop, getting its boo-boo fixed. It is suppose to be done today.
It’s going to be in the 90s here too!
Was busy yesterday getting our house CLEAN.
Today is carpet shampooing. ecurbh thinks that suddenly three years into our marriage, I’ve developed a phobia about anything touching the floor. I’ve got all the furniture stacked on top of other furniture, no where to sit but at our computers, and the next time he gets up, I’ll be tempted to put his chair up on the desk ;~)
Our vet does most of the vaccinations in the rump. I think he did the west nile in the neck.
The pony usually does a fabulous capriole when he sticks her... but the really remarkable thing is that he’s pretty good at staying with her and getting it done in mid flight :~)
Walk-thru door opened forward...
Walk-thru door closed...
right-hand saddle rack extended...
I really liked the fact that it had an adjustable butt-bar. For shorter bodied horses you can move it up...
It’s nifty! And I like the center front exit... that’s cool.
Yeah - I think we have global warming about every summer :~)
We don't have ac... so we notice it when it's 90.
For my purposes, it’s perfect. My horses will have so much room and such cushy padding they won’t know what to think the first time they ride in it. They probably won’t like getting in it any better, but I sure will.
Well, now that you post it, I remembered you posting pictures before when you were thinking about it.
It’ll be good for going to Oklahoma in :~D
Wow! That is neat! I like the fold out saddle racks. Now you don't have to put them in your front seat! It sure is a pretty trailer.
Yeah, it’ll be good for that. We were planning on taking BladeRider’s 2-horse gooseneck because it has a small air conditioned living quarters and we could just sleep out there while we’re at Becky’s, but we may change our minds. We probably won’t know for sure until we’re ready to pull out of the driveway. That’s my typical method of operation. ;o)
Yeah, they did get pretty smelly up there, especially on hot days. But it was better than having them get covered with dust riding in the tack compartment of my old trailer with the rust hole in the floor.
Ah - well the living quarters one is an awfully good option too :~)
Good morning....
I think Ok has swapped places with Wa....raining here again today, chances all week.
Frog...wonderful trailer. I really like that front exit. That will make loading horses so much easier.
If you want to bring it to OK, I’ll have plenty of room for everyone, somewhere:)
Becky
It also depends on what vehicle we have to pull what trailer. I don't think my poor little truck will make it to OK. It barely makes it to Bankhead! Of course putting gas in it helps ;-)
And some really STRANGE statuary...
There was also a big gorilla, a rhino, an elephant, a t-rex, all kinds of lifesize angels, various gargoyles, a gryphon, and lions, tigers and bears. OH MY!
I seriously wanted to take one of those big lions home but it would've been a tight squeeze even in the horse trailer.
Heh... you have to have a pretty Grande estate to support that lion.
As for the other thing... it’s not real ~welcoming~ is it?
My insurance will pay for the damage on my trailer, but the place I took my truck, won't do it. The dealer suggested using some spray paint, which I did, but that won't fix the dent.
I remember seeing that place on one of my trips up to Memphis. It is pretty good sized. I have never had the opportunity to stop though.
Do you ever watch the Dog Whisperer? Last night he was working with a Border Collie that chased the owner's horses. It is amazing how he can get those dogs to listen so fast. Or maybe we don't get the full picture. :)
