This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the previous threads we have had a great time talking through lessons, training, horse lamenesses, illnesses and pregnancies... and always sharing pictures and stories.
I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts look for it there and wake the thread up!
I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and MissTargets will now be pinging everyone most mornings. Let MissTargets and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in . There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news . Legislation that might affect horse owners.
So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.

New folk and occasional posters, jump right in and introduce yourselves, tell us about your horses, and post pictures if you've got them!
That's true. They will adjust. They always do.
I find that stallions that are gelded late tend to remain studly. It's annoying. :-)
I don't know - if you turn him out with the mares and he gets studly, he's liable to get kicked and learn to behave himself.
Wooooooooooooooooohoooooooooooo, I LOVE that!! WTG!
That is really pretty - looks warm too. Where did you find your gift certificates? Do you get an email, or are they just on the website when you log in? I'd spend mine if I knew where/how to apply them.
Oooooo. That's really nice.
You should get either an email or a private mail with your gift certificate numbers on them. Then when you go to check out, there's a link to apply gift certificates and a space to fill in those numbers.
Heh... the dogs should be pleased :~)
My husband calls our dogs bed-s1uts ..hehe
They're still asleep here, they haven't seen me yet.
Woops! Surprised the pony :~)
Just one more here then I snuck back so I wouldn't get Bay up. I like him to rest his feet.
I know, I felt bad for startling her...
She laid down again when I left though, so it was just a nap interrupted, not ruined. :~)
I swear to you, I could hear that pony SNORT when I looked at that picture .. hehehehehe
Yeah - she got up quick! Poor thing. She work Bay up too, you can see how alert he is after that, but not Cyn, she didn't care.
BRRRRRRRRRRR...just came in from getting things outside squared away. Actually put it off a little too long. The truck was already encased in ice. I had to let it run to thaw out the windows to put it in the garage. Then I got the tank heater hooked up, and horses feed for the afternoon. They'll enjoy their hay tonight:).
Yes we are getting nothing but freezing rain and sleet, nasty cold. I've been sitting in my chair, watching TV, reading, and sipping green tea:). JP was here earlier in the morning, but Kristy came and got him early so they could get home before it got too bad.
Mack is on his way, and even he said we may not go out tomorrow.
Becky
That is beautiful:)
Becky
Freezing rain is miserable, but your life of sipping tea in your chair seems a good way to handle it :~)
Nice pictures, but it's hard for me to imagine that they are comfortable laying in snow....makes me cold to see that. I'd have laid on the hay:)
