I don’t know - your trees sure look as tall as redwoods to me :)

The 70x150 ft lot my house is on...we paid 6500. It’s appraised at almost 30K now. Some behind us are going for 50k. It’s nuts. Where does it stop?

I don’t know. Prices are going out of sight here. How does anyone afford to buy anymore?

Good morning.

Thanks everyone:), I am proud of Harley, he did come thru very well and that IS something, considering. I can’t believe his shoes stayed on thru all that:)

Hair, those pictures are great. I love all the different trees. Looks like it was a very pleasant walk:).

The land around here is just crazy too. 26 years ago we paid $2000 and acre for this land here, and it is now selling for around $10,000. and acre. And it’s nothing but rock and scrub oaks...

I’m like Duchess and wonder how people pay for it. The new houses that were built in the last few years are all young couples with young kids, and not only did they pay premium prices for the land they built huge homes, and really nice out buildings. They have to be so far in debt I worry about them, and I don’t even know them:)

Good Morning.

Going to be a hot one today. High 80's. I am leaving in the morning, to North Carolina to pick up my trailer. My friend Judy, the one with the Appaloosas, is coming with me. My SIL is working and can not go. Today, I have a lot to do to get ready.

...My ac is out...

Now that's cause for a full-scale panic where WE live! Good luck on getting it fixed!

Very cool pictures Hair! Man, those are some huge trees. My favorite is the one of Ecurbh whizzing on that cedar tree. Yeah, yeah, yeah, I know he SAID he was pretending, but we all know how men are. They’ll whiz on anything that’s not moving, and some things that are! ;o)

I always enjoy seeing all the ferns and moss too. I keep expecting to see an Ewok or a Hobbit step out at any minute.

How exciting! That'll be a really nice trip. The mountains are gorgeous this time of year, or any time for that matter. It's nice that your friend is going with you. I imagine she'll be more fun than your son-in-law. Y'all have a safe trip and have fun! I'll look forward to the pictures.

I don’t know. You figure their notes are probably around 1500-2000 plus utilities. Add about another 500 a month that they need to save for taxes and you have some peoples whole pay check.

I know, and that doesn’t include groceries, gas. And then all the other things that in the big picture aren’t much, but add up, like the new cars, trucks, the guy next door has a brand new Ford Tractor, and all kinds of implements, sodded yard, gravel drive, everything. His kids have every toy you can imagine, trampoline, swimming pool, swing set, battery operated riding toys, and not just one, etc. and of the two kids only one is barely school age...and not the cheap kind..what in heavens name can those kids have to look forward too.....

Drives me crazy:), I just want to go over there and slap them.

They will be expecting the world to hand them everything they want, with no strings attached and with no effort on their part, because that's the way it's always been. People don't do their kids any favors by raising them that way.

I literally had no toys as a kid. Gifts were usually clothes and stuff. I walked a barrel, climbed trees, made houses out of mowed grass, played house with pictures from newspapers, and played on the railroad track and roamed. I don’t encourage the last two but kids need to learn to play instead of being entertained.

Good morning!

Well, we have managed to wake up around here.

We woke up feeling the effects of a rather strong bourbon we decided to pour last night. One bourbon. Yikes. I used to be able to party a lot harder than that.

It’s going to be HOT today. 82 or more. The weather people on the news have gone immediately into stories warning us about all the dangers of hot weather, including sun burn, dehydration and water sport related deaths. Luckily this heat wave will pass by tomorrow and we’ll be back in the survivable 70 degree range. :~)

Change of plans. My son-in-law does have Friday off, so he is going with me. Yes, my friend might be more fun, but I feel safer with Ben. He put the gooseneck hitch in, but I had to have two more holes drilled. The rails were still there from my fifth-wheel. That is so neat to be able to change from a fith-wheel hitch to a gooseneck, with out all that extra work. Just change the pins and you are good to go. Not that I have a camper anymore..lol

Did you still want me to check out 2-horse bumper pulls for you? We are leaving tomorrow after he gets off work and will be there Friday with plenty of time, if you want me to look around for you.

Oh - I did get a call from Bob finally, about Kat... She was a lot better by the next morning when he left. Probably just stepped on a rock I guess. I’m going to go down Friday afternoon again, and we’ll go on another ride, easy... maybe down the road out of his place if all goes well.

Hey there. You need some Hair of the Dog!

Yes, it is hot here too, but closer to 90. I kept the horses in the barn, because the bugs are so bad.
