This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the previous threads we have had a great time talking through lessons, training, horse lamenesses, illnesses and pregnancies... and always sharing pictures and stories.
I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts look for it there and wake the thread up!
I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and MissTargets will now be pinging everyone most mornings. Let MissTargets and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in . There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news . Legislation that might affect horse owners.
So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.

New folk and occasional posters, jump right in and introduce yourselves, tell us about your horses, and post pictures if you've got them!
Heh... picturesque!
LOL...or a nun in a whore house:)
Becky
LOL!! That saying is so funny! I have to laugh everytime I hear it. But I imagine it's pretty dead-on as a measure of nervousness. ;o)
Beaker, you’re gonna have to get yourself a new camera coz we want some pictures of you, especially on this new monster of a horse! The Kodak V610 that I’ve got is a very nice pocket camera. It’s got 6.1MP and a 10X zoom and is about as big as a long deck of cards. It’s handy to carry along because it’s so small but it takes good pictures too.
I missed a turn today and cut thru a gravel road to get back on the highway. I found 2 acres for sale. I was thinking ...close to home...horses around. I called .100,000 dollars! Sad thing is, is that someone will probably pay it.
Was a neat walk anyway, though it was 3 miles that felt like six! No horses allowed at this park, it's not big enough really. But that means the dogs could come, and they loved that.
Took some pictures along the way of course, just pretend Bay's ears are at the bottom and it will be just like we went on a trail ride through old growth forest. :~)
This is a cedar tree that grew up around an older stump that has since rotted away.
And here's a crooked old cedar that was designed by a committee. ;~)
I ask my husband to pose next to another big cedar, and what pose does he choose?
This park was not without storm damage, of course...
The nether regions of a big fir...
Trail still had this tree (a big maple) across it.
A really big maple
And a gnarled old tree trunk in a dark mossy place.
Doggies taking a drink at the creek.
At least you finished, Harley is sound and no back problems. With that kind of weather, it had to be so miserable. We are all proud of you! Thanks for explaining the score cards, very interesting.
Nice pictures. Such beautiful old majestic trees. Awesome!
IMO, anyone that finishes is a winner. The points are icing:’)
I’m glad things are going well. Add a new camera to your list of things to buy :) so Hair doesn’t give you a bad time.
$100,000 for two acres? Is there a gold mine there perhaps?
You've got the correct attitude for an endurance rider there :)
I just can’t imagine trees that big:’) Enjoyed the pics.
The redwoods are a whole nuther level of big :~)
Cedars are very slow growing, so Cedars that big are at least a few hundred years old.
If Becky had been along she’d have told us to look up :~)
Boy, land is not that expensive here unless it’s in town. I thought prices were outrageous here.
