This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the previous threads we have had a great time talking through lessons, training, horse lamenesses, illnesses and pregnancies... and always sharing pictures and stories.
I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts… look for it there and wake the thread up!
I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and MissTargets will now be pinging everyone most mornings. Let MissTargets and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in…. There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics… land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news…. Legislation that might affect horse owners.
So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.

One more thing...does this town have a community food pantry? I had a whole bag of stuff ready to donate at the weather show last night and forgot it! After that terrible drive into town, there was no way we were going back for it so we stopped by the dollar general and bought some canned goods to donate.
But I really would like to get this stuff to a food pantry.
I know what you mean...but it does seem like the best of both worlds...the rural on the south of the river, the urban on the north...all within a couple of miles.
I’d still love to move out into the country...the Liberty Mounds area for example. It’s so pretty.
I think there is one. Jenny knows a lady that runs something down town, I think they take stuff like that but I’m not sure. Ask Jenny.

(I’m almost finished with the chili cheese fries I made with the leftover fries from last night and all I can say is I’m glad my husband isn’t home to see it. They are so good he would be dying for them, but he’s still doing Atkins and that would be a bit more than a mere cheat. LOL!!)

Hey, if you can let your daughter know, I got ahold of Steve and he *will* be there after work...sometime after 5pm, depending on that wretched traffic jam.
Freepmail me her number and I’ll let her know...I’d like it on hand for future reference anyways.
Never mind! I found her number online and called her and let her know.
I haven’t made it home yet, and I don’t have a cable to hook my camera up down here at the building.

Hey you two, had the whole thread to yourselves today, it seems :~)
I’m back from ~town~ New starter in truck, fresh oil, it’s ready to go trail riding whenever we are. :~)
I love interesting buildings and this one was a retro 70s type and just very neat.
Matthew is at our old church with his friend (C’s son) by special invite. Joshua is at his regular Wednesday night class and Steve went with him.
I’m on my way to pick up my cholesterol medicine.
...all the good Baptists should be in church and won’t see me!

How did Steve like his haircut? I’m always nervous when friends go to her to get their hair cut...you just never know.

It’s a gift.
Interview went fine, should hear back tomorrow. It’s only a part-time job to start with, but that’s OK... don’t want anything that would interfere with trail riding. Priorities, you know. ;~)

Honestly, I’ve always said the only job ambition I have would be to be a checker at Wal Mart. I think that would be a really fun job, BUT, to much interference with riding.

So it was just a boys hair cut day... no 2J? :~)
I’ve been out lunging Bay... he was just standing in the barn when I got home, who knows how much they’ve moved today, so I figured I better make him move some... He was feeling terrific... I’ll take a look at the pictures and post a couple.
