This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the previous threads we have had a great time talking through lessons, training, horse lamenesses, illnesses and pregnancies... and always sharing pictures and stories.
I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts look for it there and wake the thread up!
I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and MissTargets will now be pinging everyone most mornings. Let MissTargets and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in . There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news . Legislation that might affect horse owners.
So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.

New folk and occasional posters, jump right in and introduce yourselves, tell us about your horses, and post pictures if you've got them!
Rag on me all you want I need it:0
Just the other day I was telling Mack, I don’t understand how I can talk myself out of doing something I enjoy so easy. Once I’m riding I’m fine, it’s just the catching and saddling I hate.
I need to work with Harley too on the sponge in the water thing. Now would be a good time with the water so high. I’ll have to remember that.
Becky
Whose acting up...ecurbh or Bay?
Becky
ecurbh ;~)
Belle did OK with the bag out in the water, she had after all been roped off of. But when the bag hit the rock and made that plastic sound, she spun away, and I just dropped the line.
Becky
LOL...that’s who I thought you were talking about....sounds kinky tho, tying him up:) Should we worry about him or you?
Becky
Heh.... He’s just full of himself... too much caffeine I think.... we’re going to go mow the perimeter outside the fence. That’ll settle him down ;~)
LOL!! Have you ever seen one of your cats get that way? And if you touch them, they DO go straight up in the air. Some of them will even flip over backwards. I've never laughed so hard in my life as when that happens.
You might wanna tie him up and then whack him a little bit. Who kows, he may even like it. ;o)
LOL!! Nah, only if she comes out in a rubber suit, spike heels and a whip. ;o)
I thought the same thing! I didn't think she called Bay "honey". Good one, Hair.
The new farrier trimmed Bodie, Jody and Biscuit. He put shoes on PJ and we are really impressed. Clips on the sides and he measured toes, heels and sides with a tape. His feet look really good. Bodie was a pickle with the front feet for a bit. That surprised me. He tried to pull his feet away a few times, but the farrier stayed with him and he settled down. I put a chain under his chin and if that didn't straighten him out, he was getting the Arabian halter.
It's a beautiful day, high 70's. I burned branches and the rest of the tree that fell down last year. It is too bad, it is going to rain, because the pasture is finally drying out.
LOL! Like they say, “What Goes Around Comes Around”. That dog will think twice the next time he thinks about messing with a horse.
Well, we’ve got the perimeter all mowed... and he settled right down with a little exercise. ;~)
I’m really pleased to be able to go all the way around with the mower now. It used to take me about two days with the weedwacker to clear the fenceline.
Well good! Hopefully that'll hold it for a while. Our yard finally got mowed and it sure looks better, but the cats will miss it. It was so tall that they could hide in it.
I’ve been out mowing in my pasture...whew, it’s hot, humid. But there is more grass coming in out there then I thought would as barren as it was. I hoping to get Bermuda seed down after this cold spell (so glad I haven’t done it yet now), and then I’ll put fescue in the fall.
Becky
Boy, you and Hair both have been busy today! I’m impressed! I’m just sitting here in my air conditioned cube watching my @$$ get bigger! ;o)
LOL
Becky
Hey, I don’t know if you’re still watching American Idol or not...but tonight is really worth watching...
Becky
Oh yeah? What happens? We haven’t watched since the first round... ecurbh just likes to watch the bad ones. :~)
I mowed the yard too then hit the couch... it wore me out!
Tomorrow I have to go to Gig Harbor in the morning... having our truck serviced and will hang out with Dad all day.
ecurbh has a job interview so he has to stay here.
