Well to be truthful, I don't know where he came from originally, Grizzly had him first. I think we rescued him from certain death. His shell had a tiny chip where it looked like it almost bled. JP took the turtle home in a box, and Kristy put him in her back yard inside a fenced area. Once JP tires of it she'll turn it loose in the woods at her place.
I use to let the kids keep turtles for a while then turn them loose when the new wore off. I had box turtles every summer as a kid too. We'd keep them thru the summer then turn them loose.

Hey congratulations! Good picture too.
Would you by any chance know why the horse forum would not let me log in? I keep getting a message that says something about I need to find an e-mail and get my registration number??? I don't have that e-mail any more. I can't even send a PM to a mod to find out what to do....have I been banned...? If so I don't know why, I haven't been fussing:)
Becky
None of us understand why you don't like that horse ;~)
They didn't tear up the grass right in front as much as they could have... Lucky about that too ;~)
Not sure why it's got you logged out over there... want me to send a Private mail and ask Personal Champ?
I'm glad Tuffy was good:)..what did he do last year that disgusted you so much.I don't remember hearing about anything?
Becky
This is the message I'm getting, if that helps to figure out what's going on.
Your account has not been activated.
You need to find out the registeration confirmation e-mail sent to you when you registered and then follow the instruction to activate your account.
Becky
I've sent a note to her... I'll let you know.
Sounds like it's treating you like a new member.
I guess it's because he acted so much like his sire and I really don't like his sire. Now he's beginning to act like he's got some brains so I may have to rethink this. I still don't like his sire though.
He just acted like an idiot so much of the time last year that I was sure he was going to hurt someone. He has been a problem child since he was born, hence his barn name Tuffy. I have a hard time seeing past bad manners and biting and rearing are extremely bad manners in my opinion. It seemed like he had to test Bob everyday.
Start him on bumpers, on flat level short grass at first, then make him negotiate ditches, underbrush, and water (if you can get it!) Having to figure out where the bumper is, remember it, and get to it and back seems to exhaust them more than just running.
10-15 minutes on obedience every day seems to help too.
I have always preferred mares - there's only one gelding I used to ride that I REALLY liked, and he was pretty squirrely (but I liked him anyway). I think my mare was BORN old, she's got so much good sense. And all my dogs are girls.
Duchess, I had no idea he had been a problem, but I have a feeling Bob straightened him out:)
Here's JP and his turtle.
And the one time we saw him come out and move around.
We had a nice weekend. The seminar was interesting, a good speaker on marketing horses, and then a good speaker about how Purina mills is run. The food was good, better then most of these type of things are. When we got out of there we went to the building and visited with the kids awhile.
Today we got the motorcycles out, and went and drove around some of the really rich old neighborhoods in Tulsa where the dogwoods and azaela's were blooming. It was very pretty, I wished I'd had my camera. Then we went to the building again and watched some more lost...Is Shannon really dead??? :)
Becky
Aww... very cute pics of the kid and the turtle :~)
Yep... Bye Shannon, we barely knew ya :~)
Thanks, I'm going to suggest this to Bob. He gets his basic obedience but I'm not aware that he does much else except fetch and drop it. He definately needs work for his mind.
He looks so cute with his turtle. My son had a couple of box turtles that he kept in a plastic swimming pool with a habitat built in. He was very good about feeding them and cleaning the habitat and I guessed they enjoyed it since one of them laid eggs. Thirty years later, he has a desert tortiouse hibernating in his bathroom sink. :)
Well, I just read your post to Bob - he says Blue is retreiving in sagebrush, he just hasn't worked in water yet. Keep up the suggestions :) because Bob puts them all in play.
Not happy to be pulled out of said box of packing peanuts :~)
LOL...great pictures:).
Hey, if it was because of you sending the Admin a note and she did something, thanks a bunch. The forum let me log in today.
Funny tho for the last week or so even tho I'm logged in, it's showing me as being offline.
Becky
She sent an email this morning saying she thinks she fixed it.
The online/offline thing... there's a setting in your profile somewhere that you check whether you want it to show you online or not... check that maybe.
Good morning everyone!
That's probably what it is. Mack was messing with my profile page the other day, trying to figure out how to set it so that I didn't get all the responses sent to our e-mail address. He changed everything, and I've been changing them back but didn't know there was a setting for that. I'll check it out.
